What should I wear?  What equipment do I need to bring?

When it comes to what to wear, it all depends on which classes you are planning on attending. On your first day of training, wear comfortable athletic apparel (no zippers please).  For Kickboxing and Muay Thai, you'll need 14-16 oz gloves, shin guards, and a groin protector.  Taekwondo classes require a uniform, head gear, gloves, shin guards, boots, mouth guard, and a chest protector. During Jiu Jitsu GI classes, a uniform (GI) is required (we have academy GI’s you can borrow during your trial week).  You can wear comfy athletic clothing on No-GI nights.  A mouth guard is always recommended for all classes.  Don’t worry, we have everything you need to start training at our academy store!

How old does my child have to be to start?  Can I bring my 3 or 4 year old to start training?

The age at which a child can start training can vary based on their ability to focus and follow instructions (as can be reasonably expected). It's important to consider their attention span and whether they can actively participate in the class without disrupting others. While some 3 or 4-year-olds may have a harder time staying focused, others might catch on quickly and thrive in a training environment. Each child is unique and develops at their own pace. If we access that your little one is ready and can benefit from the training and instruction, we'll do our best to support their learning and growth on the mats. And if they're not quite ready yet, waiting a bit and trying again later is perfectly fine. The most important thing is to create a positive and enjoyable experience for them. So, feel free to bring your child down and give it a try! They might surprise you with their progress.
